Jewelry Care

Sterling Silver

There are two finishes of sterling silver you will find in my work, high polished and oxidized. High polished silver has been buffed to a mirror polish and is a bright white. Oxidized silver has be given a dark patina finish and is charcoal gray in color.

High Polished

 Storage

Please store your jewelry in an airtight plastic bag to prevent tarnishing.

Polishing

If your jewelry does tarnish, I recommend cleaning it with Brilliant Silver Cleaner (to purchase click here), remember to thoroughly rinse your jewelry after dipping it in the solution. Please do not use this with pearls or stones.

For a quick polish and shine, I recommend using a sunshine polishing cloth (to purchase click here).

Everyday Care

To extend the life of your jewelry, remember to remove it before showering, washing your hands, cleaning, or going swimming. Jewelry should not be exposed to any form of chlorine as it will be damaged.

Oxidized

 Storage

Please store your jewelry in an airtight plastic bag to prevent tarnishing.

Cleaning

Oxidized Sterling Silver is intentionally darkened, using a jewelry cleaning solution will remove this dark finish. You can clean your jewelry with a gentle mixture of liquid soap detergent and water, swirl the jewelry in the solution or apply with a cloth, rinse well.

Polishing

Oxidized jewelry is very low maintenance and does not require polishing.

Gold

14K, 18K

Storage

Though gold does not tarnish quickly, please store your jewelry in an airtight plastic bag to prevent the process. Also, please be sure that your jewelry is completely dry before storing it, as liquid will accelerate tarnishing.

Polishing

I recommend cleaning and polishing your jewelry with Brilliant Jewelry Cleaner (to purchase click here), remember to thoroughly rinse your jewelry after dipping it in the solution. For a quick polish I recommend using a polishing cloth (to purchase click here).

24K: Vermeil, Kuem-boo

Storage

The vermeil and kuem-boo processes are both done using 24K gold and therefore do not tarnish. However, most of these pieces are paired with silver, so I do recommend storing your jewelry in an airtight plastic bag.

Polishing

I recommend using a polishing cloth sparingly with these pieces (to purchase click here). Please Do Not use cleaning solution with this jewelry as it will destroy the vermeil or keum-boo. The least done on these pieces the better!
