Organic Matter: Blue Diamonds/Curvaceous Rivet Necklace

Stone(s): Two, 4.0 mm rose-cut blue diamonds. 

Material(s): Pendant and chain are oxidized fine silver (.999) and 18K yellow gold. Blue diamonds are set in 18K yellow gold bezels. Five, 18K yellow gold accent rivets. 

Pendant/Chain Measurement(s): Pendant is 4.0" long and 1/2" wide. Adjustable necklace may be worn at lengths from 16" to 20."

Description/Artist Notes: One of a kind, statement piece. 

The pendant borrows from the delicate curves found on dried rose petals. 

The technique used to create this necklace is called anticlastic forming. Starting with a flat piece of metal, the convex curves are formed using hammers and stakes. 

For the rivets, holes are drilled and 18K yellow gold is inserted and melted on each side.  

Colored diamonds are colorless when mined from the earth. They then undergo a treatment called irradiation, to permanently create the colored diamond. Irradiated diamonds are not radioactive and will not fade. The enhancement does not affect the price and is an affordable option compared to naturally occurring colored diamonds, which are extremely rare.
